Cleaning: Firstly the collected sunflower seeds are transported by winches and bucket lifters into the cleaning equipment.

Flaking: Flaking is a process of pressing sunflower kernels from granule into sheet by mechanical principle. The purpose of flaking is to destroy the cell tissue of sunflower kernels, increase their surface area, and provide convenient conditions for cooking, so that the oil can be separated smoothly during pressing or extraction.

Cooking: Cooking is the key to the production of sunflower seed oil. The aroma of sunflower seed oil is directly related to the temperature and time of cooking. When the temperature is low, the fragrance is weak. High temperature can increase the flavor of sunflower seed oil, but too high temperature or too long time will produce harmful substances and burnt taste. The key to produce high quality sunflower seed oil is to control the ideal temperature and time of cooking. A cooker is required here. The last step of sunflower seeds pretreatment is to use a cooker to adjust the moisture and temperature of the oil seeds. Usually, the optimal pressing temperature is around 100 ℃ and the moisture content is about 12% to achieve the best pressing effect.
